Three session available to choose from each term with the option to learn from home via Zoom as well as in-person.

In a recent email enquiry, the sender, in the absence of a name to use, dubbed us ‘Wilmslow Scribes’. We were so taken with the name that we have adopted it.

You too can be part of Wilmslow Scribes and can be assured of a warm welcome to the course which is designed around both the complete beginner and those with some experience. 

Whether you are left or right-handed, artistic or not, even if your handwriting was the despair of your teachers, you can discover the rewards and simple, quiet pleasure of calligraphy.

There are a wealth of styles dating from the 1st century on which to base our contemporary work. Using group and individual demonstrations, we often take a theme as our inspiration making simple designs in a learning-by-making approach. 

You will be given examples and worksheets to enable you to develop at your own pace to take your writing from the purely functional to a rewarding art form.
