Emotional Intelligence Using Mindfulness

All Categories

Course synopsis

Tuesday 27 July Only

Using our intelligence mindfully makes all the difference to a fulfilling life, and to how we integrate and interact as a human being.

How we walk, talk, work, rest and play in a mindful manner is also an aspect of being emotionally fit.

Our forefathers knew mindfulness as self management using our senses, being able to ‘hold’ reactivity, as well as ‘tune in’ to how wise responses, task switching, respect, and listening in situations of difficulty could be enabled. In this being mindful is a highly creative act building on our forefathers understanding, and the vicissitudes of today’s world.

This day will include how we wake up to our habits and the consequences, with theory, question and answer, practical exercises, to consolidate being mindful in all we learn, and validate being the person we are whoever we are.

An outline of what to expect:

10am Registration and introduction. Bring your own picnic lunch etc

10.30am Putting the Skeleton of the day in place. The mindfulness model. What is the emotional aspect of mindfulness and how do we use the senses to wake up? What is the pause button? How do our three centres of intelligences integrate?

11.30am Short coffee break

11.50  Being present, connecting, listening. Reflective meditation in mindfulness in a tricky situation. 'Flooding','measuring' with the most appropriate attitude/attention/intention for the situation.

1pm Lunch.

2. 00 pm Looking at the heart and head dialogue in our interactions with others, and how we respond in different settings, and with different people. Being 'in touch' rather than in conflict.

 3.15pm tea break

3. 30pm 4pm summary and a fun and practical meditation exercise  ( the mystery) to consolidate the day's theory.

The depth of content will depend on the participants and how we progress, but the tutor aims to give ample opportunity for questions and participation.
