Course synopsis
ENGLISH INTERMEDIATE (B1) for speakers of other languages. Description: This course is suitable for learners with a reasonable knowledge and understanding of English grammar. You will already know the simple and continuous tenses (past, present and future) and be confident with irregular verbs.
You will learn more advanced grammar structures including the perfect tenses and the passive voice and your vocabulary will be developed so you can use more complex language in a range of situations.
You will work with a small group of learners at the same level, and we will use a course book to improve skills in reading, listening, writing and speaking.
The course runs for a year and is split into three terms. Each lesson lasts two hours and you will attend classes once a week on a Monday morning. New students may attend in spring or summer terms but an initial assessment with the teacher is requited. Please email admin@wilmslowguild.org to arrange this.
Assessment: There is classroom testing at the end of the course. A pass will lead to a certificate confirming your attainment level.
This is a free course due to eligibility criteria however if you are not eligible, course materials and exam fees are to be self-funded.
Course begins Monday January 9, 2023
