Course synopsis
How do you unravel the puzzle of a lost language? This course will examine the stories of some of the great breakthroughs in deciphering lost scripts These will include Egyptian hieroglyphs, Mesopotamian cuneiform, Linear B and the sacred writings of the Maya in Central America. We will also probe some of the languages that are still unread and which keep their secrets still.
