Information
We will learn how to make recycled paper, bind books, and make inks, all in preparation to go landscape sketching at Lindow Common.
Over the course of the weekend, you will learn how to transform recycled and foraged materials into your very own nature sketchbook and drawing materials. First, we will learn how to process recycled fibers, and learn the ancient art of “pulling” sheets from a vat. Then, we will learn how to extract colours from foraged and kitchen waste plants to use as inks. The next day, we will learn to bind our recycled paper into sketchbooks. On the final afternoon, we will take our handmade sketchbooks and drawing utensils to Lindow Common and learn the fundamentals of drawing from life.
