All CategoriesArchaeology, History & History of Art

Course synopsis

This 11 session course will look closely at the birth of Modern Art – from the early days of the Impressionists and their new styles of painting, to further movements, often becoming more radical as we entered the 20 th century. This includes sessions on Cubism, developments in Russian art as the revolution approached, and the Dada movement – possibly the most radical of the century. We also look at British and American art in the first few decades of the 20th century.
